§ 1 · What changed

The shift

A high-output engineering team no longer writes much code. The challenging part of the craft has become directing the firehose of productivity provided by fleets of agents in a way that's useful, instead of a way that soaks your codebase in crud and drowns you in technical debt.

How do you review hundreds of PRs in a day? How do you maintain quality without reviewing every PR?

Technologies change by the week. New models, harnesses, orchestration tools, and collaboration platforms appear and merge faster than any individual manager can stay abreast of the cutting edge. What works elsewhere? What might work here?

Pitch Pine Software provides a window into best practices across the industry, offering a menu of techniques being employed at the scrappiest startups and the biggest labs. Use what works for your team, discard what doesn't.

§ 2 · What success looks like

The target

Success is an engineering team that can still plan quarters ahead and maintain its architectural lines, and can also take a new feature from request to production-ready in 90 minutes.

Failed gates loop back to the agents, not to a person; the only human touchpoints are the request, the spec and the approval. Preserving the attention of the human components of your team is the key to using AI as a force multiplier, instead of an army of junior engineers in need of infinite mentorship. Let them correct each other.

§ 3 · Working together

How an engagement runs

Engagements scale to the level your team finds helpful.

  1. Step

    Briefing

A session on what is working across the industry right now: tools, harnesses, practices, and what to ignore.

  2. Step

    Assessment

A report ranking the highest-impact changes for your team and the menu items that deliver them.

  3. Step

    Collaboration

JP embeds with the team on live work, building tooling and driving three metrics: request-to-production time, review latency and defect escape rate.
